A documentary-style short film following Maya, a career-changer transitioning from retail to healthcare through Peak College's 23-week PSW program. The concept is built around an inversion narrative. We open on Maya already working as a caregiver, then travel back to the night everything changed. From the exhaustion of her old job, to the click that started it all, through her training, her diploma, and her first real day on the job. Visually, the film blends two registers. Emotional close-ups and cinematic wide shots create an authentic documentary feel without falling into the typical school ad aesthetic. Every scene was designed to feel lived-in, not staged. The goal was to move away from the kind of AI video we all recognize. No smooth, sterile renders. No perfect lighting. Just a real story, told with real cinematic intention. Something that could pass for a documentary short and not a generated ad. Produced entirely with AI-generated visuals. Character consistency maintained throughout via a custom character sheet. Voiceover written to sound like real inner monologue to be honest and human.
